My Favorite Poker Professionals
The world of poker has gone from back alley poker games in Texas to the biggest cities and the most beautiful casinos in the world. With the dawn of internet poker, loads of new money is flowing in to the poker community, and poker players are becoming celebrities in their own right. Everyone respects players like Doyle Brunson, Barry Greenstein or Daniel Negreanu - but now even lesser slikked players are turning into professionals because of the huge popularity of televised poker. Players like Clonie Gowen, Lacey Jones and David Peat are making their money in a business they don't even deserve a spot in. The business is turning into a Wall Street playground - and even though the idea of household money making its way on to the green felt; I'm here to do my part in showing the difference between the pros and the phonies here.
On the right side of this page, you'll see an ever growing list of professional poker players I respect a lot. There's loads of types of players on this site, and I promise you -- I respect the totally different styles of Daniel Negreanu and Gus Hansen alike. I don't judge players based on how their style fits mine. I'm just saying the people listed here on the right have skills. Loads of skills. More than me, that's for sure.

P.S. With the rise of internet poker and online gambling, we're seeing loads of talent come straight off the web. The reason very few true internet players made it on the list on my site is simple: they're not as famous, they're not as visible, and I'm not an online grinder. I'm very aware loads of internet players think they are much times better than the likes of Freddy Deeb, Doyle Brunson and Antonio Esfandiari - but I disagree. I'm not saying they're worse, I'm saying they're a different breed of player. A real poker player is not just a live player. A real poker player is not just an online player. A real poker player can be either one, or both. A real player has extreme skills, and if I knew of enough online geniuses and internet poker millionaire's, I'd gladly list them here.
